For many, it is time to prepare for the hustle and bustle that comes along with the holiday season. But universally, we can all agree that it’s a special time dedicated to giving thanks.
As I walk through the halls of DCAC, I am inspired by the movement and activity that I see. I smile when I think of the AMAZING team that shows up every single day for our clients, despite facing their own personal challenges.
My heart swells when I think of our dedicated Board members that march alongside us every day in this fight to keep children safe in their homes. We are forever grateful for the partners and community agencies that continue to make child protection their primary focus.
There are no words to express how grateful we are for every community volunteer that came to us throughout the year and said, “please let me help.” Whether the task was to stuff a backpack with supplies or to stand in DCAC’s parking lot and shout “congratulations” during a drive-thru graduation, they did it without hesitation.
We are humbled and moved by the support of every donor whose generosity allows us to be present when our clients need us most. Your decision to make our mission a priority is a gift that continually inspires us each day.
Last but not least, we are honored to serve for the children and families of Dallas County that trust us during some of the most difficult times in their lives, their courage, strength, and vulnerability inspires our agency beyond measure.
During this time, I hope you will also slow down and reflect on the many gifts this year has brought you, I believe you will find that there is more than what you imagined.
