Explain your position with DCAC:
I am a receptionist at the front desk and the first person clients see when they arrive at the center; their experience starts with me. Being positive and sharing a smile is essential to assuring that the children feel safe. It’s my priority to ensure they get connected to the right person who will best help and support them through their healing process.
What led you to work at DCAC:
I used to intern at another advocacy center during my last year of undergrad, and I fell in love with the mission and model of a CAC. Improving the lives of children in abusive situations and ensuring they are getting the help they need is what led to working at DCAC, it is honestly the most rewarding experience.
Tell me about someone who has influenced you or a mentor who has helped the most in your career:
My parents are the most influential and significant people in my life! They have been by my side since the beginning of my career, and their guidance and support are unmatched.
How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not working?
I love to try new restaurants and do yoga in my free time, aside from spending time with family and friends!
What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job:
I have worked at the center long enough to have witnessed kiddos walk through our doors for their very first therapy session up until their last one. Seeing the child’s confidence and self-esteem grow over time makes me the absolute proudest, as I know every staff member has contributed to their healing in some shape or form.
