Explain your position with DCAC: As a National Training Specialist, I educate the community at large, child-serving organizations, parents, and children on child abuse prevention. I provide resources and information on how to keep children safe and what signs and symptoms to look out for, as well as resources in case they ever have to face the trauma of child abuse.
What led you to work at DCAC: After touring the Center in 2013 as a CPS worker, I told myself that one day, I would work at DCAC. I knew there was a huge need for education in our community on how to keep children safe, and when the opportunity presents itself, I could not turn it down.
Tell me about someone who has influenced you or a mentor who has helped the most in your career: My family has always been very supportive of me in working in the child abuse field, and is always there for me when I need them most. I grew up in a community with many foster families, and since, have always had a passion for helping to keep children safe.
How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not working: I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family and most days just relaxing at home, binge-watching my favorite show.
What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job: I love getting to meet people from all backgrounds, and getting to share my passion for children and their safety.
Favorite quote that inspires you personally: “When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go.”
