| The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is a
nonprofit public / private collaboration that provides a coordinated,
multi-agency approach to the investigation, intervention,
and treatment of child sexual and physical abuse. Located
in a restored, child-friendly Victorian house, DCAC provides
a non-threatening, secure, child-friendly
environment
for the children and families we serve.
In addition to the DCAC team of skilled professionals,
our multidisciplinary team is comprised of:
- Municipal law enforcement agencies in Dallas County
- Texas Department of Family Protective Services, Child
Protective Services (CPS)
- Dallas County District Attorney’s Office
- Children’s Medical Center of Dallas
- Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center
Case criteria for the DCAC’s multidisciplinary team
include the most severe and complex cases of sexual and
physical abuse of children 14 years of age and younger,
residing in Dallas County. DCAC provides the leadership,
the facility, funding, volunteers and education to implement
the multidisciplinary team approach. Direct forensic interviewing
and counseling services are provided by our highly-trained
staff.
DCAC coordinates local recognizing and reporting child
abuse workshops for local professionals and co-produces,
with the Dallas Police Department, the annual international
Crimes Against Children Conference
which provides professional education to frontline professionals
tp engage in the investigation, prosecution, and intervention
of child abuse cases. We are also available to provide customized
programs of interest to civic groups, PTA organizations,
human service organizations, and others interested in learning
more about child abuse issues. For more information, please

Funding for the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is provided
by individual, foundation, and corporate contributions,
special event revenue, limited third party payers and government
