Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center 2008 Holiday
Adopt-A-Child Project
Who is included in the Holiday Adopt-A-Child Project?
The Dallas Children Advocacy Center’s specialized team of
child and family therapists recommends children for
participation based on the following criteria:
-
The family has a
genuine need for assistance.
- The family is
not receiving gifts from another agency or holiday giving
program (Spirit of Christmas, Salvation Army Angel Tree,
and others).
-
The children are 17 years old and under.
No adults or parents are referred.
Thank you for your consideration to be part of our
adopt-a-child project.
On behalf
of the children who might be the beneficiaries of your
generosity, we thank you for adding hope and care, light and
blessing to their darkened world and healing hearts.
They, and we, are truly grateful for any help that you
can provide.
Children who are part of this project have their own
information card.
This card provides the child’s name, age, sizes and
special requests. You may select one child,
or choose to adopt a “family of children”.
You might do this within your own family or
join together with other families or, as a class project or
project within your work environment.
We ask
that the following new and unused items be provided for each child:
-
2 pairs of jeans
or pants
- 2 shirts
-
1 pair of shoes
- 6 pairs of
socks and 6 pairs of underwear
-
1 pajama
-
1
coat / light jacket
- if
requested
- 2 wish list
items
Each individual gift item should be marked with the child’s
name and family number (these are on their information form),
and then all of the gifts for that child should be placed in a
large gift bag(s) and secured with the tags that will be
provided to you.
**** It is up to you if you would
like to gift wrap your gifts.
If you choose to gift wrap them, please still place
them all into the large gift bag(s) as instructed above.
****We do encourage you to remove all price tags if at
all possible.
Gifts
should be delivered bagged and labeled
no later than:
Thursday, December 4,
2008
to:
Dallas
Children’s Advocacy Center - 3611 Swiss Avenue
Dallas, TX 75204
