Sadly, we have a significant problem in our community –
and it’s one we don’t often like to talk about.
The problem is this: every eleven seconds, a child is abused.
You may be surprised to know that last year DCAC served
2,000 of our community’s most severely abused children.
Most of these children were sexually abused by someone they
knew and trusted. Since opening in 1991, DCAC has brought
hope and healing to the lives of more than 21,000 children
in Dallas County.
Each year, these children are helped by a team of professionals
dedicated to investigating child abuse cases, providing
therapy to child victims and prosecuting their offenders.
The result is a 95% conviction rate and abuse victims receiving
expert therapy and healing.

- with the ability to ask questions of experts in the
field of child abuse prevention, investigation, prosecution
and healing.

- to help teach children how to stay safe
- to engage friends/colleagues in a discussion about
child abuse and the work of the DCAC
- Sample policies/protocols that should be in place in
camps, schools, places of worship, etc.
- Quarterly updates with education/prevention information
and the latest research findings
