Child abuse is a topic nobody really wants to talk about. It’s uncomfortable. It draws attention to how vulnerable we are as parents and as communities. But just imagine what we could do if we talked openly about this epidemic.  Not sure it’s really an epidemic? It is estimated that 1,000,000 U.S. children are victims of child maltreatment each year. Also epidemic is that we just don’t want to talk about it.  Talking about it. It’s the first step in healing, and that’s what we do here at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. During 2007, we brought hope and healing to more than 2,000 children in our community.

Now, let’s talk about it with you. Parents – let us give you the tools you need to protect your children; let us give you the words to help you talk with your children about how to stay safe. Leaders in community groups, schools, corporations, places of worship – give us a forum. Let’s talk about it. It’s empowering. Invite us in to speak to your group. Yes, it’s uncomfortable to talk about. But it’s the least we can do for our kids.

Request a speaker for your community group, corporation (brown bag Lunch and Learn) or place of worship. Learn more about DCAC’s education programs, please select from the list to the left.
