DCAC Annual Campaign
Contributions to the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center are used to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect. The Center’s ability to help an ever increasing number of children depends on the kindness and generosity of individuals, foundations, the business community, and others making donations and planned gifts.

The DCAC support is based on a unique public/private partnership that brings together several diverse agencies, all of which are charged with in protecting children. Approximately 28% of the Center’s budget come from government funding, including reimbursement for counseling services provided to the children through the therapy program. The other 72% of the operating budget is provided through the generosity of private individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations to help in the healing of our child victims.

What will your donation mean to the child victims served by DCAC?

$1,500 Sponsors one child from initial investigation through resolution in the judicial system. The conviction rate of cases investigated by DCAC is an impressive 96% and when compared with cases investigated elsewhere, DCAC had a much higher percentage of cases ending with a prison sentence 79% vs. 45%.
$500 Sponsors one child through the DCAC Therapy Program to help them heal from the trauma of the abuse they have experienced. Therapy helps reduce psychological and emotional consequences of the abuse and helps restore the mental health of the child. Through therapy, children work on complex issues stemming from their abuse including: trust, shame and embarrassment, safety and rebuilding their self-esteem.
$100 Will purchase bus tokens for 20 families with no transportation to come to DCAC for therapy services
$75 Purchases three therapeutic games to be used in play therapy to help the child victim explore distressful feelings stemming from their abuse in a non-threatening way.
$50 Supplies 5 children with art therapy materials for one year. These supplies include paint, paper, glue, markers, crayons, and other fun materials such as clay and play-dough. Art therapy makes it easier for the child to express their feelings about the abuse they have experienced.
$25 Purchases a backpack for a small child who has been removed from an unsafe home and is being placed in foster care. The backpack is something to call their very own and will be filled with new clothes, toiletries, a book and a stuffed bear.
$15 Will purchase parental brochures for one Family Support Group session. The brochures will educate non-offending parents and caregivers how to deal with a child who has been a victim of abuse.
$10 Will purchase new clothes for a child who has been abducted but is now safe and needs to give their clothing for forensic evidence.

Please remember the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center when you are reviewing your tax and estate plans. Your generous donations can make a difference in the lives of abused children and help bring their offenders to justice.
