Artist Bio:  Undefined by any one style, Bob Poe enjoys the challenge of mixing media with any other means that best suits the execution of his next great idea. Developing his passion for art and drawing at an early age, Bob at first focused on the figurative – but he quickly branched out into experimenting with numerous other styles of expression. Later, he had the privilege to study under such modern masters as Jim Nutt, Jim Lutes, Susanna Coffey and Ray Yoshida at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received his MFA in 2001. Bob soon migrated south to Dallas, where he currently lives and works in advertising as a Senior Art Director. Dallas also serves as home base where Bob shows and commissions his work. Never growing out of his experimental phase, this well-rounded painter continues to work in a variety of styles, ranging from the figurative to color field to some recent, heavily textured canvases. Acrylic, oil, pastels, collage, graphite, ink – no form of art media is safe from Bob’s distinctive brand of creativity.
