Artist Bio:  Born in Memphis, Tennessee, now living in Atlanta, Cynthia Saunders began her art training at Edinboro State College in Edinboro, Pennsylvania in 1973. In 1974, she attended the Cleveland Insititue of Art in Ohio. She later moved to do graduate work at Georgia State University. Inspired by Frank Stella, her work is marked by a progressive growth in imagery, moving from expressions in a quilt patten to a grid pattern format that characterizes some of her pieces. She works primarily with oil on paper, canvas and occasionally wood. Saunders participates in solo and group exhibitions in the North and Southeast as well as being respresented in major corporate and private collections in the Southeast.
